Suma
"Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born." - Anais Nin |

The dog pictured here in the sunset is Suma, my first dog companion in my ‘adult’ life. Suma taught me some important life lessons - how to be responsible yet carefree, how to smell the flowers and not get stung by a bee, how to live in the moment always ready for the one to follow - especially if it means mealtime... Most significantly, Suma taught me about unconditional love. She was in my life for nearly fifteen years - not nearly long enough, and yet, her passing taught me about impermanence and the importance and necessity of loving another being with all my heart, and letting go when our time together on earth has passed.
The hardest part about loving an animal is the letting go. When a new client comes into my life, a relationship is established with each individual animal in the household. As we spend more and more time together, it is my belief and experience that trust and respect and appreciation grow, as well, of course, as love. Over the years, I have had the great honor of loving some unique and wonderful animal friends. It is my wish to extend a paw of homage to these kindred spirits whose bodies have passed, but whose sweet souls remain in our hearts forever.
